AI-powered DJ lighting?! What a time to be alive! Drop a comment and I’ll tell you how to do it! This isn’t your typical “sound activated” mode where a light simply change on the beat. It reacts to the energy of the music at a moment in time and orchestrates a show based upon it. Music-based blackouts, patterns, and multiple different zones each with their own rules, color schemes and commands. It used to take hours to create something like this with complicated equipment but I was able to put this demo together in just a few minutes. I needed to provide my own lighting for a small private event (hehehe small private) and this was a simple alternative to get interesting lighting without hiring a lighting engineer. I haven’t figured out how to control Elden Ring with it yet. I’ll save that for tomorrow.

This is why artists need to pay attention to their workspace! Avoid distractions, frustration and burnout by removing things that are not a part of your current process. I have loads of gear and tech - one of the best things I did to improve my focus was putting away every bit of it except the few critical items I am using RIGHT NOW. One keyboard, one drum pad, monitors and two pairs of headphones. Everything else comes out as needed. Think of your workspace like a dry erase board. If it already full of notes, there is no room for anything new. Your most important tool is your mind so give it room to work and create free of distraction.

I made a big decision last October to reinvent myself as an artist.
